11 more hours

February 25, 2008 at 10:18 am | Posted in Love, Sean | 5 Comments

We work opposite shifts.  By the time I leave for work, Sean has already completed half a work day, and it will be eleven more hours until we see each other again.

I miss him every day but Mondays are the worst.

  1. Oh, I just SO know what you are talking about having had a weekend-relationship for over 12 years! I had so big difficulties eating on Mondays, my stomach hurt and it was really bad as I had no internet access from home….
We sacrifice a lot to work, it seems. Feeling with you, hope the situation doesn´t last too long…

  2. Lauren, off-topic…but you really need to check out Anne’s Almost Quintessence. Her “Getting One’s Goat” post was how I first met you, years ago…now, her family of goats has grown a bit. And they have a cute dog, too!

  3. i love you!!

  4. Been there done that. Rick and I did it for ages upon ages and now he works the most on Friday’s and Saturday’s and gets home late on those two days while I’m home on the weekends missing him. Absence makes the heart grow fonder…we appreciate the time we have because it’s not a given.

  5. I know how you feel. My husband is either in the morning shift or in the graveyard shift, and I’m always on the afternoon shift. When I come home, he is asleep when he is in the morning shift and then when he wakes up at 4am, I’m the one who is sound asleep. I come home to an empty house when he is in the night shift. We get to see each other on our weekend rest days. It sucks but we met at work so we have accepted that we cannot see each other.
