Three at random

Looking through my photo collection this morning, deciding which photo to post today, I came across three that I like very much.  Although I have over one hundred thousand photographs, I feel often that I’ve posted all of my favorites on the blog, probably because I look at them all so frequently and have familiarized myself with almost all of them.

This one was taken in February of 2003 outside of the hotel I was staying at in New York City.  I had yet to purchase my first good quality camera and the picture moment had much more potential than I could produce with such poor equipment, but I love this photo anyway.  There are two photos of mine that define the war for me.  The other is a black and white photo of crosses set up on the main lawn of my college campus to symbolize the death of the many soldiers who have lost their lives in Iraq.

Ah, this photo.  It is of Sean and his dad at the white house some twenty or thirty years ago.  I love the expressions on their faces here.  Sean is probably asking his father about something historical and his dad more than likely knows the answer.  Sean’s mom must’ve taken this one and she captured the two of them beautifully.

And the last one is just Georgie, my landscaping coworker.  I could not describe the awful stench that followed George around, on warm days he smelled worse than a rotting trash heap.  I loved George anyway.  He is constantly stopped by the police and accused of public intoxication as he walks down the sidewalk to Paul’s Pizza.  He shows the officer the scar from his metal plate in his head and it is obvious that he is mentally slow.  The cop usually lets him go on his way.

  1. I love your photos…always!

  2. Is it me or is something wrong with webshots? I can’t see your pics and my site is headerless…
