Blogging is distracting

 I should be folding my flannel sheets and putting them away in storage.

The week that held Mother’s Day is finally over and all the drama that comes with the holiday has come and gone. It is not easy to live in a house with a brother and sister than no longer have a mom. I’m sure it is harder on them than they let on, and I can’t help but feel guilty that my mother is still alive and well while their mom is no longer here to receive her Mother’s Day hugs.

I love how Sean and I share our parents. My mother is his mother; his father is ours. We don’t have perfect families, but we make up what we lack.

Mother’s Day makes me excited about becoming a mother someday. As I look at the photographs I took this week of my loved ones and their babies, I can’t help but see the similarities in those smiles, almost as if the children are wee versions of their parents.

Sean and I both took tomorrow off from work to have a mini vacation. He’s already asleep–probably because this post took me two hours to photo edit and compose–and I’ll be heading to bed shortly.

First, I’d better fold some bed sheets.
