There are two things that I do every night before I go to sleep. I take my hive medication and I set my alarm for the morning. I remember to do them without fail and will wake up from a deep sleep if I forget. It seems I cannot fall fully asleep for the night if I have not completed my tasks.

Sean has one task that he must complete before sleeping. To him, this task is the most important task of them all. He says,

I love you. I’ll see you in the morning.

It doesn’t matter that he hasn’t had a day off in over a month, that he has been dead on his feet all afternoon, or if he falls asleep at 7:30pm. He will wake up and tell me these nine little words.

And tonight, long after bedtime, while I am sitting at my computer taking my pills and setting my alarm clock for work tomorrow, he wakes up and completes his task.

I love you. I’ll see you in the morning.

I’m sure that I may just be the luckiest girl in the world.
