The race and pedicure

Oooh. Today was lovely. It was a family day with lots of fresh air and pampering. Sean’s brother-and-law Scott ran a race, as he is known to do, so we took the kidlets out to watch their daddy run. A, who is two now, has started calling me “Auntie [Wawen] Lauren!” and soon as I enter a room he screams my newfound title and smiles a big toddler smile. And Sissy, now seventeen months, reaches up for that please scoop me up and love me hug. Oh these children make any cloudy day less grey.

After the race, we let Scott take the kids and spent the rest of the day as a girl day. Sean’s sisters, extended “family” (the neighbors that lived next door for most of Seanie’s young life), and me had pedicures and manicures and spent most of the late afternoon eating and laughing at old memories.

I start my new job tomorrow. I don’t plan on working there long as it is a temporary placement and they want me to work weekends. If I wanted to work weekends, I would’ve stayed at my terrible post office job. There are new job prospects underway, but I will tell you more about them as they happen. For now, know that I will be working at a friendly place which may or may not turn out to be a lot of fun.

On a side note:  download Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t worry, be happy”.  Nothing could go wrong when you’re listening to it.
