There’s hope yet

I decided to look back into my blog archives to see what I was doing a year ago today. Not surprisingly, I was cooped up in bed with a bad case of hives.

Picture from March 5, 2006:

Tonight I am watching Suppernanny with Sean. We’ve been cuddling and eating Hot Pockets and watching television, and I’m happy to report that I don’t have hives. This year has been a challenging one for me medically, and I’ve finally figured out the right combination of medications to prevent any hive outbreaks. I still get hives, but rarely and only when I don’t take my prescriptions.

It is incredible to be able to live life again without feeling as if my entire body is covered in poison ivy. So I want to thank all of you for being there for me as I’ve struggled with the hives. You’ve all given me more advice, more relief options, and more support than I could have ever imagined.

Let’s hope next year I am off the medications and hive-free alltogether.

In the meantime thank you for all of the great fish names, and I’ll be posting the winners tomorrow.

  1. See, compared to that, being jobless and bored isn’t so bad. At least you don’t itch. Now, stop complaining and name some fish!
